Ash Behshid

Ashlyne “Ash” Behshid (b. 2000) is an Iranian-American artist, creative producer, and curator based in Los Angeles, CA. Working across painting, sculpture, installation, music, and film, Behshid creates dynamic, alien works that challenge traditional artistic boundaries.

His practice is rooted in hybridity, merging painting and sculpture through shaped canvases and unconventional techniques that expand the visual language of both mediums. His work also explores language as an alien force—growing up, he experienced his native tongue, Farsi, as both familiar and estranged. That same sensation manifests in his mark-making, constructing a visual dialect that feels simultaneously intimate and foreign.

In addition to his studio practice, Behshid runs a creative production company SAFARI 2000, which curates group art exhibitions and produces alternative creative projects across music and film.
